We recently had both of our dogs at your kennels and upon leaving we were very satisfied with the care both Cody and Zeke received. Zeke, being young and high energy appeared to be well challenged during his stay and looks forward to continued training by Jason. The facilities are the cleanest and sharpest I have seen and we did inspect several other kennels before deciding on Camano Island Kennels.

I appreciated my experience with Camano Island Kennels very much. I chose you to help me with my dog training needs because I believe in pack leadership and hierarchy, not treat feeding or positive only training, both of which are unbalanced. It is well worth the distance to find trainers who agree with my beliefs and it is becoming hard to find good trainers who understand canine psychology- Your web page said it all!!! Buddy came to our shelter with little training and a big personality. After two failed adoptions, and in spite of the efforts of the employees and volunteers training him, Buddy continued to show signs of stress and inappropriate behavior. A donation was made in Buddy's honor for additional training. There was no question on who to ask. Dianna and Jason agreed to
board and train Buddy for adoption. The results where amazing. We came away with a better understanding of Buddy's needs and a program that his new family can continue with. Buddy has since been adopted and his new family loves him. Thanks to the folks at Camano Island Kennels for their knowledge and commitment to our canine companions. Because of your hard work and talents, Buddy is off to a fresh start in his forever home.

Thank you for the insightful, effective obedience training classes for "us" and our rescue pup, Sasha. We have learned to identify any situation as an "opportunity" to improve our skills, and her exposure to everyday life. She improved remarkably and we are coming along. At Camano Island Animal Shelter we receive dogs of various breeds, temperaments and backgrounds. Dianna and Jason have been assisting us by volunteering regular training sessions, with our shelter dogs and the animal shelter staff, in obedience and leash work. This has made a remarkable difference in the lowering of kennel stress and has resulted in our shelter dogs behaving more calmly when meeting potential adopters. My dog and I participated in a small group training class and I was extremely pleased with the experience and the results. I have a dog that for the most part is well mannered, but she does have some issues, and I was very pleased with the tips on how to handle her specific issues. All of the dogs/owners got individual attention in that each dog was used to show techniques for handling different types of behavior, and watching the other dogs be trained was nearly as helpful as the individual attention we got. Overall I think the entire group of people in my class was pleased and surprised to see how dog behavior can be modified. I expect to enroll in classes in the future. I also use Camano Island Kennels for dog boarding on a regular basis.

Both Dianna and Jason have made a HUGE improvement in my four dogs in terms of their “manners”. I have learned to expect more of them and not to let anything slide. I’m even asking more of my deaf dog, who has had no formal training. And, of course, gaining the intellectual understanding that I can do this is so invaluable. Without the assistance of a trainer, I know that I would not have been able to integrate an aged, deaf dog into my pack of three large young dogs. The recent six-week obedience class has made my youngest, and craziest dog of the pack, a rather good citizen. The skills I learned in the class not only helped my youngest dog but will benefit the rest of the “pack.”

Our vet had recommended Jason and Dianna... We elected to begin obedience training with a week of their in-kennel training. When I stood behind their office window, as I watched Jason and Dianna work Chinook through what he had learned in just a week-- leading, sit/stay, down/stay, it brought tears to my eyes. All of this, and there were no snacks given to him for his performance, just "good boy/caressing", and he wanted to perform more!!!

Dianna and Jason - Our experience with your training classes and boarding has been absolutely exceptional. In regard to the training classes, we never dreamed that our 10-year-old dogs could have made the improvements they have in such a short time. It is like we are living with different dogs!
