Policies

Service agreement: Before we can accept your pet for service, we require a signed agreement.  PDF

Reservations: We request two night minimum stay. Camano Island Kennels works like a hotel. Because our accommodations fill early, we suggest that you reserve your spot as far in advance as your plans allow. If your itinerary changes, we ask that you advise us immediately so we may arrange for another person’s pet to occupy the newly available space. If we are able to fill the space that you have reserved, you will not be charged for it. However, in the event we are not able to fill the space, you will be responsible for all the days you have scheduled with us. Because of our intimate size, last minute cancellations affect us significantly, so we adhere to a strict policy.

Deposit / 72-hour cancellation policy: Accommodations are at a premium, especially during summer months and holiday periods. For that reason, we require a NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of 50% when you reserve space for the periods encompassing Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day and Thanksgiving, and for the holiday period beginning just prior to Christmas/Hanukah and running through New Years. Cancellations with less than 72 hour notice will require forfeit of the deposit unless we are able to rebook the space.

Drop-offs and pick-ups:
Drop-offs and pick-ups are by appointment only, Monday through Sunday. Guests who check out prior to 11 a.m. will not be charged for the day of check-out. Appointments are scheduled around the needs of our many canine guests and also around previously scheduled training classes and consulting sessions. For this reason, persons arriving at other than their designated time may find our gate closed, and because of the press of training and other duties we regretfully may be unable to provide access.

Business hours:

  • Monday through Friday 7:30am to 6pm
  • Saturday 8am to 5pm
  • Sunday 9am to 10am and 4pm to 5pm

Scheduled closures: Our business office is closed on all major holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Hanukah and New Year’s) This means we are taking care of our boarding guests, but are unavailable for drop-off’s and pick-ups during non-business hours.

Vaccination requirements: All guests are required to provide proof of current vaccinations (DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella) upon check-in. For the protection of your pet and others staying with us we request a current use of a “once a month” flea treatment.

Intact dogs and bitches: All dogs boarding with us must have been spayed or neutered.

Leash control:
Dogs are to be kept on leashes at all times during check-in and check-out process, both inside and outside kennel buildings.

Forms of payment accepted:
Cash, local check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Payment is expected at check-out time.
